Text from Jodie (Mom)
Today started out very special for Kollin. Thanks to his
teacher's quorum advisor Brother Matt Eyring, he received a bedside visit from
Pres. Henry B. Eyring. How very humbled we all were to have an Apostle of The
Lord in our midst. He was positive and insured Kollin that The Lord loves him
and is watching over him. Soon after that visit, Kollin was able to talk to his
Best buddy -Elder Braydon Galland via Skype. He was nothing but encouraging to
Kollin. Expressions of great Love were exchanged in the hour long conversation
as he told us of the prayers being offered for his little bro across
Mozambique. That was the peaceful part of the day.. The rest has been sort of a
tough and painful day as the dr's have tried to take him off some of his pain
meds and try different ones. His blood pressure has been hard to control, and
he's had a lot of congestion that he's been unable to cough out on his own. He
did have the long awaited MRI this afternoon and we anxiously await those
results (most likely in the morning). Lying on his back for an hour and a half
in the MRI was difficult for him because of his congestion. He returned to the
ICU with breathing difficulty. He very rapidly declined this evening to the
point that it was necessary to put him on a ventilator. He is now stable,
sedated, and the ventilator is breathing for him. At this time the Dr's feel it
would be in Kollin's best interest to strictly limit visitors to grandparents
and his brothers only. This latest episode is a bit of a set back and so our
hope is that your prayers will continue on Kollin's behalf. The out pouring of
Love and Support for us has been the thing that keeps us going- we are so
grateful to ALL of you and hope you understand Kollin's immediate need to Rest.
Much love,
Jodie

Update on Kollin--tonight we had a little scare. After a busy day with many tests, including an MRI, Kollin was struggling to breathe. His co2 level was near 100. (That is very dangerous). Meaning he had not been getting enough oxygen for a while. Doctors quickly put him under anesthesia and placed a breathing tube down his throat and hooked him to a respirator machine that is currently breathing for him. Kollin, myself and family greatly appreciate all the love and support that everyone is showing to us. We know that many of you are anxious to visit him and be there for him, but until further notice, the doctors say no visitors other than immediate family. They need to watch him very closely and keep his blood pressure at a certain level. I will let everyone know when he is more stable and able to receive visitors. Again, thank you all for your prayers and concern and support.
