Update from Jodie (Mom)
Today during the day, things have been super chill for Kollin. PT (Physical Therapy) came and got him
settled in his chair. He had fun
throwing magnetic darts at a dart board and came so close to hitting the
bulls-eye a few times. He stayed
in his chair for over an hour watching Cartoon Network. This little bit of activity wore him
right out. And he slept most of the afternoon. He had another Dog visitor. This one’s name is Ottis. He is half Great Dane and half St. Bernard. He is a big boy, weighing 105lbs. Ottis is tall enough to rest his chin
on top of Kollins leg while Kollin is in bed. Animals are such a great giver of Joy. We’ve been told that as soon as KPG
gets out of ICU we can bring Viko and Mika up for an outside visit. Kollin really misses his two furry
friends, and they really miss him.
It is still necessary for Kollin to have regularly scheduled
“Cough Assists” to continue to clear out the gunk in his lungs. This evening, the Docs decided to try
putting him in this vest device that has air pumping through it. It kind of pounds, or vibrates his
chest in hopes of loosening gunk in his lungs. He didn’t tolerate the vest too well and only lasted about 5
minutes wearing it before he felt like he couldn’t breathe. (most patients wear it for 30
minutes). This aggressive
treatment has been too much for his body to handle and tonight he has been in
respiratory distress. It seems
like just when we think we’ve take a step forward, we take 5 steps back. Gary and I feel like we are learning
about Patience on a whole new level.
Gary got the word out to our kids that Kollin was in need of prayers---and
quick. Thank you to all who have
helped us cope during the stressful and hard times. We know that there will be ups and downs along the way, and
that things will get better eventually.
Thanks for your consistent support during this very Slow Moving journey.
I feel like I should also mention something very special
that happened on Friday for Kollin and our Family. It was the Timpview Homecoming Game and Kollin was nominated
by his peers as the Homecoming Prince for the Freshman class. What an Honor that has been for
him. It is proof to us, as his
parents, that Kollin has so much Love and support coming to him from the kids
at the High School. Some are his
friends, but others are just reaching out to an injured kid that goes to their
school, and in the process are becoming friends for life. Thank You, thank you THS students for
keeping Our Boy in your thoughts, and prayers--- We will be forever grateful
for you, and we pray that you will be Blessed for your Goodness!!!!!!! Kollin’s big brother Ethan had no complaints
about standing in for Kollin at the game and escorting the Beautiful Nicole
Curtis onto the field at half time. We are Die-hard Timpview football fans, and since we aren’t able to be
at the games this season, we just want to say……. “GO T-BIRDS GO!!!!!!!!!!”
Ottis is half Great Dane half St. Bernard and he weighs 105lbs. That's how much Graci weighs- haha

Dear Homecoming Prince-Congrats stud! Goes without saying that you have a lot of people thinking about you on a daily basis. Stay positive! We love and miss you a LOT.--The Teacher's Quorum (aka your bretheren homies)
